Coconut chikki -lonavala style recipe


1&1/3 cup dessicated coconut (100 gms.) 1/4 cup chikki jaggery (50 gms.) 1/4 cup sugar (50gms.) 1/4 cup water (50ml.) 1TBSP.glucose syrup /karo corn syrup 1/4tsp. elaichi powder (cardamom powder) 1tsp. ghee to grease the surface and rolling pin.

2 cups packed cabbage -150 gms.
3/4 cup coarse wheat flour (kakaro lot)-125 gms.
1/4 cup chickpea flour (besan)-25 gms
1/2 cup flatten rice (poha)-25 gms.can use leftover rice instead
1/2 tsp.turmeric (haldi) powder
1&1/2 tsp. salt
2-3TBSP.sugar (for authentic taste add 3TBSP.)can use jaggery instead
1 TBSP whole coriander seeds (pounded)
1/2 TBSP. red chilli powder
1/2 TBSP.dhana jeera powder(coriander cumin powder)
1/2 TBSP.sesame seeds (til)
1/4 tsp. ajwain (carom seeds)
1/4 cup yoghurt or water
3 TBSP.oil +1 TBSP. to grease

Ingredients for tadka:

2TBSP. oil
1/2 TBSP. mustard seeds
1/2 TBSP. sesame seeds
1/4 tsp.ajwain
1 no. red chilli broken
1/4 tsp. asafotida (hing)
